We look like a team and a manager hoping for things to happen. Of course this happens when low on confidence but as you say, the plan seems to be to recycle when nothing appears on but it's all too safe and just fades out and I think fans are getting tired of it.We need a spark from somewhere, something like the Dorrington mazy run in the cup final. Perhaps the team personality is too much like the managers, but something has to change on and off the pitch to get us going.
Definitely feels like we’ve got a stronger squad post-window, so hopefully he can find the right combination soon but we should at least be stronger off the bench!
We need a hero, I think. Hopefully it’s Karlsson and Nisbet can chip in with goals. Thought Armstrong looked good too on Saturday.
But, as you say, something needs to turn around soon!
On paper we have a pretty exciting bunch of midfielders they just need utilised better! I can see Armstrong becoming a regular, he looked sharper than I thought he would at this point.
Interesting piece on Jensen there. Via the eye test, it does appear to be a case of getting into decent positions and then turning back. Didn't really consider that he's perhaps being asked to do this rather than risk losing possession by making a cross. However, there needs to come a point where the "fuck it, let's see what happens" mentality comes out. In the still you've shown above, even I'm thinking "slip it behind the defence and see what happens". I just get the sense of nervousness to lose possession. But let's have a go.
Despite Karlsson loving a shot from even outside the Bobbin pub, it's still very damning that he's managed more shots in one game than Yengi has in his entirety. (If I've understood the graphic correctly!).
Yeah I agree. Actually planned to write about how most of our chances seem to come that way right now, when we just add a bit of chaos into the mix eg balls into the box, long throws (Aouchiche chance on Saturday) when you’re struggling for goals, sometimes that just makes a bit more sense.
Also wonder if Jensen is not too confident on his own speed to beat a man which results in him being more conservative on top of instructions.
Yengi clearly been a big mistake. Will always be conscious of the Morris/Gueye redemptions but this one might be beyond Jimmy.
Yeah been a bit underwhelming. Early days of course, but probably comes a point when you make a call that you’re not spending £1.5M on him and might be better to look for a longer-term solution.

Great stuff as always Gavin.

Hopefully Saturday brings a change of fortunes!
I really thought Aouchiche was going to be the man!
