Another good read thanks. Personally I would go with your "Robson" choice but replace Nilsen with Shinnie and Shinnie with Devlin. There would be enough pace in the team to get up around Sokler but enough cover defensively. It also leaves us a few options off the bench if need be. Whatever it will be interesting to see how Thelin plays it. Had to laugh at the " twitter will break" comment- so true!!
I was thinking about Dante in the holding role and went back to look at if/when he last played this position. I think it is Ibrox 4-0. And I just rewatched the highlights and at a few key points before goals he does look off the pace of the game from a defensive perspective. Caught between pressing and tracking runners. Could this be the game that is making Thelin reluctant to try Dante in this position again?
Sorry Ian for the late response. Good point. I went through my notes on that one. It was a solid first-half performance but with little attacking threat. Then Thelin put on Nisbet and Gueye, pushed on and all went to pot a bit. Polvara definitely caught in no-mans land for a couple of goals.
Be interesting to see how next few weeks go and whether he finds himself in the team.
