Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts throughout the season. Excellent work. Even if this one brought me to tears - I was wishing on Saturday evening I could have called mine to hear her delight in ours. As a teenager I watched Irvine smash home in 1990 little did I know the next time would witness such a feat I would have my own teenager beside me. Football is a joy and it feels so good for us all to have this milestone moment. The north east deserves it. Thanks again. Allez! Allez! Allez!

Gavin - I've hugely enjoyed your analysis over this season and what a great way to finish. Your personal touch at the end was a wonderful reminder that this is part of what bonds us all together as Dons and no doubt many a tear that was shed on Saturday evening was fuelled by these kinds of memories. Looking forward to next season and all it brings. COYR.

Congratulations Gavin, I’m a Celtic fan and heard you on the huddle breakdown many times and enjoyed listening to you and reading some of your pieces throughout the season. As bad as the final was from a Celtic perspective, the upside for me was seeing the joy in the red end of Hampden, tribalism usually stops these thoughts but the scenes then and at the parade are the joy of football. Enjoy the summer and good luck to Aberdeen (until we next meet !)

Aye, despite our own disappointment, my uncle and I sank a few jars with some of the Don's making their way home from Queen Street on Saturday night, and as you say the collective power of football to bring joy surely is unmatched (something some others could learn from).

The sight of so many young kids, families, Mum's, Dad's, Aunt's & Uncle's (we spoke to many) and as you said about your Ma, there was definitely some joy & solace in seeing the joy in other's. At that point the ticket allocation definitely made sense, we are a football daft nation and spreading that joy is no bad thing, hopefully the powers that be can learn a thing or two and get their act together.

Football is all about the Fans.

I to enjoyed your blog and appearances on the HuddleBoard, enjoy your Summer!
