A wonderful day for the Red Army.
More in-depth review to follow later this week, but I couldn’t let the occasion pass without acknowledgment.
Congratulations to Jimmy Thelin, his players, and all the backroom staff. There was a ‘gameplan’, and it achieved its aim of keeping the team in the match thanks to the concentration and effort of his team. An element of luck, no doubt, but sometimes you make your own.
Finals are about doing what you need to do to win the trophy.
Every player deserves praise, of course, Dimi Mitov, was the hero and we can’t ignore Shayden Morris, but a special shoutout to Jack Milne. A local loon, thrust into the biggest game of his career and handled it like a veteran.
Oh aye, and, ‘we’re taking our team into Europe’. Enjoy the parade and the impending hangover.

Congratulations, Gavin. A sore one for us but don’t begrudge you and your fellow dons fans your celebration. All the best.
